However, the city corporation authorities have denied this allegation. This action has been taken against him due to their demand, neglect of duty and working in other institutions.
The victim Torik Ahmed said that on Thursday afternoon, the administrator of the City Corporation, Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, called him to his office. There, he was questioned about going to former mayor Ivy’s house on Wednesday night and asked to answer based on a photo on Facebook.
Toric said, the former mayor is our neighbor. After a long time he was released from jail and I went to see him out of courtesy. When I mentioned this to the administrator, he got angry and dismissed me from the job asking me to take salary from the former mayor.
Advocate Sakhawat Hossain Khan, administrator of Narayanganj City Corporation and convenor of metropolitan BNP, has completely denied allegation of political or personal vendetta, despite admitting the dismissal.
He claimed, there were allegations of negligence against Torik earlier. He said that the said employee used to work in the agent branch of another bank after attending City Corporation. This action was taken on the basis of specific complaints of non-attendance at the workplace during office hours. This dismissal has nothing to do with going to the former mayor’s house.
There has been a mixed reaction among local officials and employees over this incident.
