US President Donald Trump is preparing to review a new 14-point peace proposal sent by Iran to end the war permanently. In a post on his social media site Truth Social, Trump wrote, “I will soon review the plan that Iran sent us. But I cannot imagine that it will be acceptable. Because they have not paid enough for what they have done to humanity and the world over the last 47 years.”
Iran’s news agency Tasnim News reported that the United States had previously sent a 9-point proposal. In response, Tehran has made a 14-point counter-proposal for a permanent ‘cease of war’.The main demands of this proposal are – assurance of non-aggression against each other; Withdrawal of US forces from Iran’s border areas; The complete lifting of the naval blockade imposed on Iran; release of seized Iranian assets held by the United States; lifting all economic sanctions on Tehran; A permanent end to the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
The US sought a temporary ceasefire with a two-month deadline, the report said. But Iran rejected the proposal and said that all problems should be resolved within the next 30 days. According to Tehran, it wants not just an extension of the ceasefire, but a final end to the war.
