Minister of State for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam of the current BNP government avoided giving any direct answer to the journalists regarding the objectionable audio call recording of a BNP leader that was spread on social media.

Recently an audio record leak created a sensation across the country. In the leaked phone conversation, it was alleged that a BNP leader was lobbying a local woman leader to bring a 14 to 15-year-old ‘kochi mei’ (the teenage daughter of a poor van driver) to a local woman leader for the visit of a central leader from Dhaka.

When asked to comment on this sensitive matter, the journalists questioned the state minister. But he refrained from answering the question directly. He said to the journalists, You are journalists, I will not answer your questions.

He also mentioned, He would have been more happy if ordinary students asked questions about such indecent or controversial issues than the media workers.
Though there was widespread discussion and criticism on the issue in the social media and political circles, the state minister did not give any official comment or explanation regarding the incident of this leak and the allegations against the party leader.
