Meteorological department has predicted that storm and thundershowers with maximum speed of 80 km per hour will occur over six districts of the country. This information was given in a warning for inland river ports from 8 am to 6 pm on Tuesday.
Meteorological Office said, due to this storm coming from the north-west direction, the river ports of the concerned area have been asked to display the maritime warning signal number 2.
The weather forecast says that strong storms may blow over the southern and coastal regions of the country. The districts are Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar.
Temporary gusty or gusty winds of 60 to 80 kmph may occur over these areas from west or north-west direction. Along with this, there is a strong possibility of rain or thunder in these areas.
Small launches and vessels are advised to proceed with caution as warning signal number 2 has been issued in river ports due to stormy winds. The authorities said to take special precautions to avoid marine accidents due to hostile weather.
Meanwhile, there is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in other parts of the country, according to Met Office sources. Fishing boats and trawlers operating in coastal areas have been asked to proceed cautiously close to the coast until further notice.
