As soon as the Tamil Nadu assembly elections are over, the eyes of political circles are now on Boothferat polls. And the most talked about name in that survey is southern film star Thalapathy Vijay. By participating in politics for the first time, he created the possibility of significant success. Various polls have indicated strong popular support for him, making him one of the surprises of this election.
Vijay contested the election with his party Tamilaga Vetti Kazhagam. His main opponent was the current Chief Minister MK Stalin. The huge turnout at Vijay’s rallies ahead of the elections created a new equation in the political arena, which is believed to be reflected in the booth polls as well.
According to Boothferat polls by various organizations, Vijay’s party could win around 98 to 120 seats in the first election.
Analysts believe that if this prediction is realized, there will be a possibility of a significant change in the politics of Tamil Nadu.
However, not all polls paint the same picture. According to some sources, the DMK alliance could be ahead with 120 to 145 seats. On the other hand AIADMK alliance may get 60 to 80 seats.
In some polls, the victory party has also been given relatively less seats.
Meanwhile, some firms including Kamakhya Analytics are also looking at Vijay as a potential ‘kingmaker’. According to their predictions, his party can play an important role in forming the government even if it gets 67 to 81 seats.
Notably, polling was completed in 234 constituencies of Tamil Nadu on April 23. According to Election Commission data, the voter turnout was over 82 percent, reflecting the state’s electoral interest.
What is now to be seen is how much the Boothferat poll’s predictions are reflected in the final results—and whether Thalapathy Vijay can make history in the election debut.
