Opposition Chief Whip Nahid Islam said, “The Home Minister is not taking any action despite the attacks and mobs in various places of the country, including the shrines of Mirpur in the capital. Those in the government who fail to fulfill their responsibilities should step down.
He said these things on Saturday (May 16) afternoon at the National Youth Shakti’s birthday function in the capital.
Nahid Islam said, ‘You have spoken against the mob in different places. You have said in the international arena, shrines are being attacked during the interim government…then during your government, under your home minister, how come the police are attacking the shrines again and again and why those who are attacking are not identified and brought to justice.’
He said, ‘If there is a crisis, you cannot pass the blame on others.
Government is running the country with PR strategy, as a result people’s expectations are not being met.’
Opposition chief whip said that the government has failed to fulfill various promises including employment given before the election. India is depriving Bangladesh of its fair share by damming its rivers. Long march will be done if necessary to protect the border.
