11 BCL office-bearers have got the posts of leaders in the newly announced 32-member Convening Committee of Mymensingh Medical College Branch Chhatra Dal. There is a storm of criticism in the party and outside.
Last Friday, Central Chhatra Dal President Md. A partial committee of Chhatra Dal was announced in a letter signed by Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nashir Uddin. Tanveer Abdullah has been made the convener of the medical college branch in the committee and Mehdi Hasan has been made the member secretary.
However, 11 leaders of the 2023 committee of the medical college branch of the Chhatra League got a place in the committee. A member of the college branch of the Chhatra League got a place as a joint convener. Mohaiminul Islam Noman, Rizvi Ahmed, Saad Mohammad, Niloy Saha Prayas, Jannatul Islam Nabil, Abdul Baset Shiblu, Arafat Hossain Rifat, Zakaria Arju and Sabbir Ahmed Sourav. Apart from this, Mehrab Hossain Miad and Thanh Saha, members of the Chhatra League committee, got places as members.
When asked about this, Mymensingh Medical College Branch Student Union Member Secretary Mehdi Hasan told Bangla Tribune, “I don’t want to talk about it.”
However, Mymensingh District Chhatra Dal President Azizul Hakim said, ‘The Chhatra Dal Central Committee directly looks into the matter of the Medical College Branch Chhatra Dal Committee. If someone from Chhatra League hides information and enters the Chhatra Dal committee, action will be taken by contacting the leaders of the central committee.’
Meanwhile, discussion-criticism is going on in social media regarding the fact that Chhatra League leaders get a place in the declared committee of Chhatra Dal of Medical College branch. Some have demanded the cancellation of the committee.
