Shere Bangla AK Fazlul Haque has been deleted from textbooks, his family members have alleged. They demanded that the contribution of Shere Bangla should be highlighted in the textbooks.
This demand was made by the family members after paying tribute to the three leaders at Dhaka University (DU) Doel Chatwar on the occasion of Sher Bangla’s 64th death anniversary.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) also paid tribute.
BNP Standing Committee Member Nazrul Islam Khan and Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi were present on this occasion.
Nazrul Islam Khan said, ‘Shere Bangla AK Fazlul Haque’s memories have been destroyed. BNP government will give proper status and importance to Sher Bangla AK Fazlul Haque.’
He said, ‘Because of the tenancy law, the farmers of Bangladesh are now getting benefits.
However, he is less talked about. AK Fazlul Haque was the leader of the masses of Bengal. He has made numerous contributions to the welfare of the people, including the establishment of Dhaka University and courts.’
