BNP has decided to fully cooperate with the EC for the purpose of fair elections in view of the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. This decision was taken in an informal meeting at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Sunday afternoon in the presence of the party’s Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman.
At the end of the meeting, members of the BNP standing committee of journalists. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain confirmed this and said, “It was not a formal meeting of ours. Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman held office in Gulshan office for the first time after 17 years. It was on that occasion that we members of the Standing Committee gathered here.”Dr. Musharraf said that various issues related to the election have been given priority in this informal discussion. He said, “We have decided that the BNP will provide all possible cooperation to the Election Commission for the sake of a free and fair election. Besides, the current political situation of the country, restoration of democracy and party organizational issues were also discussed in detail in the meeting.”
Tareek Rahman reached his office from his Gulshan Avenue residence at 1:40 PM. BNP standing committee member Dr. Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Moin Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury and Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi welcomed him.
