Prime Minister Tariq Rahman reached Sylhet. He landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 9:58 am on Saturday (May 2). This is his first visit to Sylhet as the Chief Minister.
Earlier in the morning, the Prime Minister reached the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport by road from his Gulshan residence in the capital. Later at 9:20 in the morning he traveled to Sylhet by air.
According to the program of the day, from the airport will go directly to the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA). Later, the Prime Minister will attend the foundation stone laying ceremony of the project undertaken by the Sylhet City Corporation to solve the waterlogging of the city at a place called Chandni Ghat adjacent to the Sylhet Circuit House. At noon, Baisha, located in Kashipur Union of Sadar Upazila of Sylhet District, will auspiciously inaugurate the river re-dredging program.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new 20 Sports-2026 organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at the Sylhet District Stadium to explore the sports talent of children and teenagers. After attending a meeting at Shilpakala Academy, Prime Minister Tariq Rahman plans to return to Dhaka in the evening.
