At least 20 districts of the country are likely to experience thunderstorms on Saturday (May 2). Warning signal number 1 has been asked to be displayed at inland river ports in these areas.
Storm Warning Center of the Department of Meteorology has given this information that between 1 pm today, Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogra, Tangail, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Faridpur, Madaripur, Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet regions from north or north-west. Temporarily gusty winds of 45 to 60 kilometers per hour with rain or thundershowers are possible. Therefore, the river ports of these areas have been asked to show warning signal number 1.
Meanwhile, the probable forecast for the entire country published on Friday night said that light to moderate rain or thunder may occur in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and in some places of Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions till 6 pm on Saturday. Apart from this, moderate to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions.
