Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Organizer of National Citizen Party (NCP) South Region and Member of Parliament from Comilla-4 Constituency, said, ‘The political minorities are supposed to be more active in protecting their rights – as a global message. There is an attempt to portray Bangladesh in a negative light of our communal harmony – to send a message through our harmony that Bangladesh is a safe land of all creeds, all religions. If it can protect it, the negative fear of India’s post-election will not exist.’
He said, ‘People say law and order has deteriorated. The crime reports were more than the interim government during this period.’
He said this to reporters after discussing the widening of the Chandina-Debidwar highway with stakeholders at the local level on Tuesday (May 5).
Hasnat Abdullah said, ‘Service institutions must belong to the people. There will be no intermediary between the service receiver and the service provider. Every citizen should be more diligent to protect their rights.’
Debidwar upazila executive officer Rakibul Islam presided over the road strategic issues in the meeting, Roads and Public Roads Department Comilla Executive Engineer Golam Mostafa.
At this time Sub-Divisional Engineer of Comilla Road Department Safiqul Islam Bhuiyan, Deputy Assistant Engineer Mohammad Saidul Rahman were also present.
