Meteorological Department has predicted that gusty winds of 60 kmph may blow over 8 regions of the country by 1 am. Thursday (May 7) from 2:30 pm to 1 am in the weather forecast for the country’s inland river ports.
Meteorologist Omar Farooq said that between 1 pm on Thursday, there may be temporary gusty or gusty winds or rain with thunder over Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Sylhet from west or north-west direction. The river ports in these areas have been asked to display warning signal number 1.
Country’s highest rainfall of 70 mm has been recorded in Netrakona in the last 24 hours. Apart from 48 millimeters in Naogaon’s Badalgachi, 44 in Faridpur and Rajshahi’s Baghabari, 38 in Kishoreganj’s Nikli, 34 in Dinajpur, 33 in Narayanganj, 27 millimeters in Dhaka, it has rained in most parts of the country. In this situation, the trend of rainfall in the country may increase towards the end of the extended 5 days, said the Meteorological Department.
