BNP Chairman Tariq Rahman has sent a special letter to newly elected National President of India’s ruling party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nitin Naveen. The letter was handed over to BJP’s international wing chief Vijay Chothauwal in Delhi on Tuesday (May 5) night.
Humayun Kabir, the representative of BNP visiting Delhi and advisor on foreign affairs of Tariq Rahman delivered this letter. On Wednesday afternoon, Vijay Chothauwale published pictures and information about the meeting on his verified X handle. He said that he had a courtesy meeting with BNP leader Humayun Kabir. At that time he handed me a letter written by Tariq Rahman to BJP National President Nitin Navin.
Shishir Bajuria, an influential leader of the West Bengal state wing of the BJP and member of the international division, was also present during the meeting.
Humayun Kabir is currently in India on a three-day state visit. However, this closed-door meeting with the top leaders of the BJP and the direct delivery of Tariq Rahman’s letter in the midst of the visit have caught the attention of political analysts.
This action of BNP has caused mixed reactions in the political arena in Bangladesh. There has been a storm of criticism especially among Awami League supporters and social media users.
