Assistant Professor Shehrin Amin Bhuiyan Monami has resigned from the post of Assistant Proctor of Dhaka University. He announced his resignation in a Facebook post on Monday morning.
Assistant Professor Monami wrote, ‘In 7 years of teaching profession (2024), I have never wanted to do any administrative duties for a moment. While I was in BUP, Jagannath and Dhaka University, I never thought that I would ever take up any administrative responsibility.’
‘But when Proctor Sir called me on August 28, 2024, he wanted me as Assistant Proctor, I was really excited. I am a little lecturer, even less a man, such a big responsibility which is usually given to slightly senior teachers, I am in that responsibility!!’
This teacher, who is discussed for various reasons, remembers that time and wrote, “This is the new Bangladesh with many hopes, many dreams in our eyes. If I can do something good for my country, my alma mater, what can be more fortunate than this! I will agree to that, elder brother-sir of my department!??”
In the post he also said that the experience of working under the leadership of Proctor Prof. Saifuddin Ahmed was instructive for him. He mentioned that he learned the things of patience, restraint and humanity in performing duties in difficult situations.
Without elaborating on the successes and failures of his tenure, he called it a ‘wonderful experience’ and thanked the entire team.
At the end of the post, he congratulated the new Proctor of Dhaka University and his team and said that he hopes they will carry out this important responsibility efficiently.
