Naseeruddin Patwari said, “Home Minister and Foreign Minister need to wear red bangles in the current situation on the border. They have no strong statement on the border killings. The government is completely failing to provide security to the citizens.”
While talking to journalists during the trip, this NCP leader made several controversial and important comments, after the Kasba murder, he termed the BGB’s notification that the victims were ‘drug smugglers’ as ‘Indian rhetoric’. He claimed that the identity of the real nationalist should come out of this statement.
Naseeruddin said, if the NCP forms the government, canals will be dug in the entire border area, so that drug smuggling and infiltration can be stopped permanently. Blaming the Home Department and a section of parliamentarians for the spread of drugs in Dhaka and across the country, he said it is important to check whether the parliamentarians are addicted to drugs or not before entering the parliament. He warned that if the government does not take effective steps to stop the border killings, he will take the countrymen with him and take a ‘long march’ towards the border.
Nasiruddin Patwari alleged that he faced obstacles from the security forces while entering the border area. He said, I have been blocked in three places. I am standing in Bangladesh, I will go wherever I want. Who are you to interrupt?
At this time NCP joint convener Ashraf Mahdi, joint chief organizer Mohammad Ataullah and other central and local leaders were present. The leaders visited the graves of the victims and inquired about the bereaved families. A large number of police were deployed in the area to avoid untoward incident.
