Newly elected West Bengal Trinamool Congress (TMC) MLA Abdul Mateen Muhammad has said that Muslims in Bangladesh are “dangerous” to Muslims in West Bengal. Discussions have been created in the social and political arena around this comment.
In an interview given to the local media, he said, “Bangladesh Muslims are very dangerous for the Muslims of West Bengal. They do things that the Bengali Muslims of this state have to pay for.”
However, he did not give any clear explanation about what kind of statements or actions of the Muslims of Bangladesh have to pay “Kesharat” to the Muslims of West Bengal.
This Trinamool MLA elected from Harwa assembly constituency also said, “I will say to the Muslim brothers of Bangladesh, if you want to comment on the Muslims of this state, it is better to know, understand and study everything. Muslims here are in danger because of the rash comments of that country. They should be more careful and comment.”
Incidentally, the Bharatiya Janata Party has won a big victory in this year’s West Bengal assembly elections. The party formed the government by winning 207 out of 293 seats. On the other hand All India Trinamool Congress got 80 seats. Through this, Trinamool Congress lost power in West Bengal after 15 consecutive years.
