Recently referring to the rape and murder of child Ramisa in the capital, Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarek Rahman said, ‘Ramisa’s incident is very sad. The government wants to establish the rule of law, if someone commits a crime, he should be punished.’
He said these things in a public meeting after inaugurating the canal re-excavation program at Trishal in Mymensingh at around 2.30 pm on Saturday (May 23). The prime minister inaugurated this re-excavation program by cutting the soil himself. Martyr President Ziaur Rahman dug this canal 47 years ago.
At that time, the Prime Minister said, ‘A group is plotting to hinder the development of the country. They do not care about the people of the country. This group is trying to create a chaotic environment. They don’t talk about farmers, they don’t talk about canals, they don’t talk about school students. It does not talk about the employment of the people of the country. People should be alert about those who want to create a chaotic environment in the country.
‘If there is anarchy, distribution of khalkata program, farmer card, family card will be stopped all over Bangladesh. So we have to take an oath now to stop them.’
He said, ‘On August 5, 2024, a group of people has started colluding with those who have been expelled from this country. As they did in 86, 96 has also grown a beautiful tail with them. We have kicked out dictatorship from Bangladesh. The people of Bangladesh came down on the streets that day to send off the dictatorship. Dictatorship that took away the right of the people of the country to vote, took away the right of the people to speak, stopped development in the villages.
‘People of Bangladesh now want to form a country. Want to change their fate. 40 crore hands of 20 crore people should be strengthened. BNP was elected by people’s vote, BNP thinks about people. BNP is planning and working accordingly.
