Prime Minister Tariq Rahman said, ‘The way Ziaur Rahman wanted to build the country, the current government is trying to do it. People expect from those from whom they can get something.’

The prime minister said this at a discussion meeting organized by the BNP at the Krishibid Institute in Dhaka on Sunday (May 31) on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyred President Ziaur Rahman.

The Prime Minister said, ‘We have an important and difficult time ahead of us. If this time is spent laughing, the country and future generations will suffer.’

Tareek Rahman said, ‘Ziaur Rahman took Bangladesh to such a place through hard work that people thought Zia and Bangladesh were the same.

He brought many changes in the country through hard work and honesty. Ziaur Rahman should follow that path.’

At this time, the head of government said, ‘There is a shortage of social, religious and family values in the country. Instructions have been given to the Ministry of Information and Education on how to create these issues among children.’

Tareek Rahman at this time urged the leaders and workers of his party to maintain organizational discipline. He said, “We must continue to work as before the election. The government has to succeed by implementing the manifesto.’
